Anyhoo, the Willy's MB is borrowed heavily from Fredrik's design, detailed
in other posts in this thread.  He came up with a great system of hinges
to effect the flat-fenders, and an ingenious front-wheel-chassis-axle
system.

Having looked at the jeep a second time, I had kinda forgot why I used
that somewhat strange setup for the front axle.  But I believe that I
needed a lot of half-stud offsets for the bumper mount and the grille
and the headlights, and that was probably a rigid solution to obtain
those offsets.  In my model, I used the hollow studs on the bracket on
both sides of the grille to indicate the headlights.  I feel that the
1x1 transparent dots are too large for headlights, especially for a
military vehicle for which stealth is important!  ;-)

The rear bed is a little too large, but you would only need to cut
about 1/2 stud off its length to bring it into line, I think.
Anyways, it's great looking, and I just think of it as an extended
bed model for a gun mount ;)

Actually, I meant the scale of the vehicle, not only the length.  I
belive the scale is too large (about 25%?) for minifigs.  Just look at
the wheels, which reach the minifigs to well above the hips!  And the
scale of the wheels is what I started out with in the first place, so
the rest of the vehicle is pretty much to the scale of them.

But of course, a Willys Jeep to minifig scale would be even harder to
make and would be much less playable, not seating more than one (or
two) figs.

But the scale of the other military vehicles you made also seem to be
too large.  For example the wheels of the 4x4 armoured car are roughly
as tall as a fig!

And seeing that your models have attracted that much attention (and
well deserved, too), I should thank you for advertising my design!

Of course, it is never my intention to frown upon people who publish
models based on my own.  In fact, nothing makes me more happy than to
see people being inspired from my designs.

(...) You're right ... I think some smaller wheels would be more accurate in terms of size, but I had made the decision to go with the big old' tires 'cause I thought they looked cool. Oops! Sorry, Fredrik, I forgot to mention you - I've been good up to this point, but it seems I skipped over appropriate crediting this morning.
