    Are they blind??? —Erin Windross
Are my parents blind?! This Christmas I got NO I repeat NO Lego. Gee I wonder if they have noticed that 6 ft long Lego ship sitting on the top bed of my bunk bed. Maybe they just thought that 4558 Metroliner was my gift, maybe they thought the dog (...) (24 years ago, 29-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Are they blind??? —Scott Edward Sanburn
(...) Well, I hardly get any LEGO for anything anymore, unless I can get my NLSO (Soon to be wife) to buy me some. She is building my sets now, though. My parents have not gotten my LEGO for many moons. Welcome to the club! Scott "Ah, I will buy (...) (24 years ago, 29-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

Bummer Erin :( you have to do what I do.. when anyone asks you what you want for Christmas just hand them a list with only Lego sets on it :) when they ask what else you want, tell them there's one more thing... MORE Lego :) I only got 3 non-Lego (...) (24 years ago, 29-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Are they blind??? —Jonathan Little
(...) My story is a bit different. I wasn't expecting any Lego for Christmas. My parents have been telling me for months that they don't know what I have, need, or want and that they weren't going to get me any. However, they did continually ask me (...)           Re: Are they blind??? —Bret Kramer
(...) I've been wondering about this myself. As my children get older it will no longer be possible to quietly "absorb" the Legos they get into my collection. Therefore, there must be some ground rules established before they leave the house. My (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Are they blind??? —James Brown
(...) Well, I don't even have kids yet, and I've already learned this lesson, just from my nephews coming over to play... :) I rapidly realized, after the first session of sorting and storing that there would be ground rules in the future...            Re: Are they blind??? —Scott Edward Sanburn
(...) I learned this as well, from both my stepdad's nephews and from my roommates nephews as well. They have a tendency to destroy sets, and somehow manage to hide it until they leave.            Re: Are they blind??? —Bret Kramer
(...) Hah! It's always a toss up between giving them the rare sets that I want or getting them the basic sets. My problem is my kids already have an eye for good Lego sets and/or pieces. It's going to be a real war around here in a couple of years. (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Are they blind??? —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) That's pretty much my story. My NLSO said that she wasn't going to try and buy me a set, because she didn't know what I had, needed, or wanted, and to be honest I could probably get four or five for the same money in a few months anyhow.         Re: Are they blind??? —Bret Kramer
I know your feeling well! I fell in love with Lego at age 8, and since then that's all I wanted (I'm 34 now). For years though I rarely got Legos for Christmas or birthdays. Occasionally one set here and there, but if I ever wanted anything I always (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Are they blind??? —Remy Evard
Here's a hint for those of you who aren't getting enough Lego for holidays - give your parents, or wife, or whomever a list of "sets I want and promise not to buy". For Christmas, make that list in October or so. Put it on your web pages, or print (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)
