For the last several weeks, I have been part of group of people working to fill
in the colors that are missing from LDconfig.ldr, and basically, make sure the
entire contents of the file are correct and laid out properly.
There are a lot of colors and getting their RGB values and edge values to look
as close to the real LEGO bricks is a large job. We need your help in
determining how we have done so far and what mistakes we have made. Please take
a moment to download the two MLCAD files below and provide comments back. You
can simply over-write your existing MLCAD.cfg file with these new ones (one at a
time). Don't worry about your existing file, MLCAD will regenerate it, if you
rename, delete, or move it.

Though I can't speak for the LSC, it is likely that the final RGB and edge
values from this work will be incorporated into an official new release of
LDconfig.ldr. Again, I can't say anything definite, but many LDraw program
authors are adding support for this new LDconfig.ldr into their rendering and
CAD programs.
I'm sorry that I can't yet provide the LDconfig.ldr file. It contains RGB
values that we have not yet been given permission to release.
Please take a few minutes to use these files in MLCAD and let us know what
mistakes were made, or just let us know your thoughts on how closely these
colors resemble the real LEGO bricks.
Thanks,
Scott W.

| Great work. However (please forgive me)... Where do I put these files (I assume the MLCad program folder?), how do I use them amd how can I test if the colors are right? I have never worked with custom colors before. (16 years ago, 19-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)

| Hi all, I've been experimenting with these new colors and configuration files. I am however now ending up with these lines of code once I edit a file in MLCad: 0 COLOR 64 Bright_Light Blue 0 208 255 255 255 208 255 255 255 0 COLOR 65 Bright_Light (...) (16 years ago, 21-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)

| (...) I've been questioned about the directions we are going with our efforts. The current plan for the LDConfig.ldr is: * Keep the core color numbers from 0-50, plus some historical colors like Black_Rubber, Chrom or Gold for backwards (...) (16 years ago, 22-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)
