LDraw will not die. Let me write that again. LDraw will not die (as long as
I'm involved with it).
However, LDraw is and continues to be a completely volunteer operated project
and a small one at that. Even compared to most local LUGs, our active user
based is very small with the added complication that most of us don't live in
the same areas as each other. In fact, I could go so far as to say that the
LDraw organization is just an umbrella group for a loose collection of
independent projects run by individual people.
What does this mean? It means that real life can (and should) get in the way of
our chosen hobby. It also means that progress and output of our group moves in
spurts with the possibility of long dry spells. Admittedly this dry spell has
been exceptionally long and, as a leader in the organization, I'm dismayed but
I'd rather it be that way than to drive people away because I (or anyone else
for that matter) am too demanding.
