It has been over two years since the last LDraw parts update. Where the heck are
the new ones? Are we just letting LDraw die? It is really seeming that way.
Yes, Ive read the Lack of Parts Updates article. I read it over a year ago.
And as far as I can tell everything is waiting on six parts to be redone before
anything new is released. Is this right? Six parts are causing the downfall of
the great LDraw?
Well, as much as Id love to put my money where my mouth is and recreate these
parts myself, Im afraid they are much beyond my LDraw skill set at this time.
And since it appears no one else has stepped up to do these parts, I think its
to move on and release all of the other newly formatted parts without out them.
Add the six parts in to a later parts update. Its not as if LDrawers havent
had to do without a few parts before, and the old versions are still in the
library of those whove used these parts.
Tell me if there is something more than these six parts that are gumming up the
works. Tell me if there is anything else us not skilled enough to build final
parts could do.
But whatever committee makes these decisions I beg you, start releasing parts
again.
Dont let LDraw die.

| (...) I'm *sure* that LDraw is not on death row. I have faith that things will get resolved. I'm sure part of the problem is that we have real lives, and sometimes that gets in the way of LEGO. Are you sure you cannot get along with an unofficial (...) (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad)

| (...) No, the six parts are not the reason for the delay but the inconsistency of the part's header with the need to check/convert every single part, plus all the extra work that has to be done for the new package - read: all-in-one-installer, (...) (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad)

| (...) No, LDraw is not on its death bed. Things are going on in the background - although with less vigour than I would wish since Christmas, due to an overload of other commitments. Most of the conversion work on the existing official library is (...) (17 years ago, 22-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad)

| (...) Beside reviewing as already pointed out also preparing the parts we've got from the LEGO Universe Team (URL) the Parts Tracker could be an option to get into ldrawing since the shape is already there. Admittedly some of the parts are a (...) (17 years ago, 22-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad)

| (...) LDraw will not die. Let me write that again. LDraw will not die (as long as I'm involved with it). However, LDraw is and continues to be a completely volunteer operated project and a small one at that. Even compared to most local LUGs, our (...) (17 years ago, 23-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad)
