Hi all, I am looking for a way to render fast top view images and thus creating images like the original LEGO instructions they use in the Statue of Liberty. To do top view rendering was answered in another question I asked. Would it be possible to (...) (19 years ago, 15-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: SR 3D Builder Version 0.2.2.3 Available

(...) I'm sorry about your graphic card, but I try to write the shader in a previous version without success. To run the program you have to follow the link created in the windows StarMenu.SergioReano.SR3DCad. I haven't try to uninstall the program (...) (19 years ago, 15-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

Reminder: 2007/2008 LDraw.org Standards Committee (LSC) closing tomorrow

Hi folks, as outlined here: (URL) will close tomorrow, at 11:59 PM GMT on 14 October 2007 and elections will start October 17. Only those candidates that have been nominated and have accepted as outlined (or volunteer), will be eligible for (...)   Re: PreL3P 1.0

(...) Well, I lied. I've implemented the meta commands instead of an INI file after all. I've also added a -map option to renumber color codes. This can be done separately or in conjunction with conversion to the hexadecimal color format. The (...) (19 years ago, 12-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: PreL3P 1.0

(...) ;> (...) For portability I am inclined to look for the configuration file in the model's folder (or the current directory if using stdin). Otherwise I realize I'd have to start coding special cases for Windows, Linux, and the Mac. (...) It is (...) (19 years ago, 11-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: PreL3P 1.0

(...) No, but I can easily add some PreL3P options, just like I've added L3P options, in my LDA program. In that case, the command line options are better than the .ini way. (...) The Windows directory. But if there is one in the same folder as the (...) (19 years ago, 11-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: SR 3D Builder Version 0.2.2.3 Available

(...) Looks like a *very* interesting program. Unfortunately it didn't like my graphics card, NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 ("Could not get a device"), so there's no way I could test it :-( Some notes: - It's a bit unclear what to click to start the (...) (19 years ago, 11-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: PreL3P 1.0

(...) True. You can still give options with this syntax ("prel3p +codes 4 model.ldr"), but I suspect there is no way to do so when using it by drag and drop. (...) If it could use a configuration file, what would be a standard place to look for it? (...) (19 years ago, 11-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: PreL3P 1.0

(...) Just a little thing I've noticed on the previously discussed long filenames issue. (Not that it really matters to me.) The original version of colortest.ldr was saved as COLORT~1.LDR.bak on my Win98SE PC, while the long name colortest.ldr was (...) (19 years ago, 11-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

SR 3D Builder Version 0.2.2.3 Available

Hi everybody, it seems that i have resolved my problem with Lugnet posting, so now I'm able to post in newsgroup. I'm happy to announce that a new and hopefully stable version of my Cad has been released. It should solve some crashing problem when (...) (19 years ago, 11-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: PreL3P 1.0

(...) I'm glad to hear that. Please note that I cannot update my Swipnet pages after changing ISP to Telia. The swipnet provider is kind enough to let my pages remain as long as I use their mail services which I prefer to. My more recent projects as (...) (19 years ago, 11-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: White noise around model with colored background

(...) I just tried again here at work with the line filter hint set to NICEST. To be honest, I like it better the other way. To my eye, it's more blurry when set to NICEST: (URL) The difference is best seen by loading both images in separate tabs of (...) (19 years ago, 10-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: White noise around model with colored background

(...) I don't set the filter hint. It was rendered on an nVidia 7800 GT. My ATI at work does a reasonably good job with the same settings, but it leaves a few small gaps in the edges (around some studs): (URL) (...) Actually, based on this you'd (...) (19 years ago, 10-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: White noise around model with colored background

(...) Wow, those lines are much smoother than anything I remember getting with simple antialiased lines. Was that rendered by ATI or Nvidia, or do they both give you results like that? Does the SMOOTH HINT make a big difference? I think I set it to (...) (19 years ago, 10-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: White noise around model with colored background

(...) The image on the above page was rendered with antialiased lines, but no FSAA. FSAA would have brought the halo back, since there's no way to have FSAA on part of the scene, but not on other parts. In theory I could render the image twice, once (...)   Re: PreL3P 1.0

(...) That was exactly my point - perfect! (...) Probably outside prel3p scope indeed. Both LDDP and MLCad can change colors, but not if they are inside subfiles. To me the modified ldconfig is a good solution. Philo (19 years ago, 10-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Why LDraw.org doesn't use ldconfig.ldr ???

(...) I think I had some issues with the GL_POINT implementation on that version of OSMesa OpenGL. If you're bored, you could try adding a line width to see if that makes the line endpoints come out right. Something like -w1.3 or -w1.1 or maybe even (...) (19 years ago, 10-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: White noise around model with colored background

(...) Hey those look nice. Just for kicks I ran off a test with the ancient method of ldglite at 2x scale followed by ImageMagick mogrify 50% to shrink it back and antialias. (URL) I like your edge outer edges better. Very nice. I'll have to look (...) (19 years ago, 10-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad, FTX)
