What AFoL (Adult Fan of Lego) MOC (My Own Creation) gave you that first
aha moment when you saw it online or in person? How did it affect you?

A fine question! For me, two MOCs really knocked my socks off during my early
days in the online AFOL world. Back in 96 and 97 I didnt realize how
widespread the community was nor the scope of the projects that could be
undertaken.
The first was Ed
Boxers LEGO Castle. The biggest castle MOC Id ever attempted before that
time would just about fit on a 32x32 baseplate. When I saw Eds accomplishment
I was totally floored. In retrospect its even more impressive to me because Ed
didnt exactly have the latest MLCAD software to help design it, and he worked
instead in Coreldraw.
The second real eye opener was Terry Cruses Titanic, for which I cant seem to
find a live link. This was another holy moley moment during which I got a
brand new sense of the potential scale of MOCs. The detail and sheer size of
the model were remarkable, to the point that I remember certain pictures with
clarity even 8+ years after seeing them.
Dave!
