For me as a kid, it wasnt actually a “set” but a Lego product...

6000 LEGOLAND Idea Book

Although the buildings are simple by LUG layout standards, I was mesmerized by it, and the book opened me to other building worlds, like space and castle.

I never tired looking at it. I can still recall the day my mother bought it for me, weirdly enough at a Beaver Lumber (Canadian Hardware/Lumber Store) in the book section (that these days are reserved for “How to Build a Deck” type books). I spent many days wishing I had enough Lego to build everything in there all at once.

I still love that book today although I do regret using half the stickers out of it as a child.

As for my adult life, some of the larger more involved technic sets have changed my building abilities, or the way I approach building. Since I never had any technic sets as a child, I missed out on that learning curve, and am slowly building those skills, including both studded and studless.
