Lots of great sets mentioned here.
Like many here, I remember pouring over an idea book with equal parts wonder and
frustration at my limited LEGO supply.

As a PAB addict, I agree with many of you for whom something other than a "set"
(PAB, bricklink, meeting other AFOL's, Lugnet, etc) most revolutionized your
building, but (as the subject suggests) surely there is a set, even one in your
distant (possibly pre-adult) past that greatly altered the way you build, or
took you to the next level.  What was it?

I'll make an exception for Dave, for whom most progress in brickdom can be
traced to certain other brands... ;-)  I must confess that it was a hand me down
Tyco castle set that led me to  LEGO Castle, possibly my favorite theme as a
youth.

Many of the folks here have long surpassed the techniques used in TLG sets, and the pictures that folks post here are the most inspiring things I've ever seen, but as it relates to "Official" sets, What LEGO set: ...made you approach building (...) (17 years ago, 29-May-07, to lugnet.build)
