The 9701 and its fellow Dinobloks sets preceded the bulk of LEGOs
departure from (mostly) primary colors (at least in terms of my
collection), so once I got my hands on the broader palette, I was hooked.

Yes, but they also pre-dated TLGs cursed foray into juniorization as well. I
mean, look at those feet! If that isnt Galidor foreshadowing, I dont know
what is!
