Note Buy-Sale-Trade;

"Community trading post, items wanted, items for straight sale (no
auctions), experiences, market analysis, etc." With the emphasis on
community (or individuals).

Note Shopping;

"Retail, mail-order, and online shopping: information, discussions,
experiences, analysis; FOTW's (Find of the Week), sales, promotions, coupon
offers; LEGO Shop-At-Home Service (phone/flyer specials, availability,
etc.); liquidation outlets, second-hand stores, garage sale tips, etc."

The groups are set up for a reason and as Todd stated he was just reminding
them where they should have posted their message.

Thanks for that clarification, Rose, but now you got me wondering, do Guild
of Bricksmiths announcements (of straight sale stuff, not stuff like initial
unit auctions, which get announced in .auctions like all other auctions)
belong in .shopping rather than BST???

Where's the line?

Clearly TLC is (a bit :-)) bigger than MTW, but is it a difference in kind
or degree? I'm trying to run MTW as a business, I file a schedule C for it,
although I don't do a separate tax return for it since it's not incorporated.

I kind of hope that I can keep announcing MTW stuff in BST. It seems
reasonable to me. But I dunno.

(I do agree that LD stuff definitely doesn't belong in .announce and
probably not in BST either)

++Lar (ah, compartmentalization! Sometimes a bit of pain in the sorting
process but definitely WAY worth it overall)

(...) Hmm, good question. I'm not Todd, but I'd be inclined to set the (fuzzy) line at the (indistinct) top edge of cottage industry. How's that for precision? (...) It's a difference of degree, technically, but I'd call it kind, at least for Lugnet (...) (23 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) If it's a straight sale, then .market.buy-sell-trade; if it's an auction (i.e., soliciting progressively higher bids from earlier bids), then market.auction, if you're a retailer (e.g., BusyBee, TRU, Target, S@H, etc.) or you're posting (...)
