OK, here is the URL of the working prototype:

Wow!!! Great job guys, I like it a lot!
The layout is very nice and clear, simplistic and to the point... it's easy to
find what you're looking, mostly.

It's a good idea to put CLSOTW in a main place on the front page, IMO...and
the column division works well, I think.

A few tiny suggestions:
-For local groups, you should probably have a link to "more..." like the
others, even more-so... I think it should link to lugnet.loc so that all
countries are viewable.
-nitpick... the "more" link means different things in different places... I
suggest to give a link that says more *what*. (e.g. "more info", "more
news", "read more about", "see more groups", etc.).

If something like this page gets activated as the "real" main homepage
www.lugnet.com, there will probably need to be some sort of configuration
setting to cause the old homepage (e.g., the one that is current now) to load
instead, for people who might prefer that, unless a really short and simple
URL can be thought of for the old (current) homepage.

You know, I would say www.lugnet.com/news/ would be a great and easy-to-
remember place for that... of course, that's already taken, but... well, 'tis
up to you. :-)

All in all, great job! I like it a lot, although in the long run I suspect
I'll be with the folks using the "old" homepage.

-Shiri

Aye, I'll be with them in that boat too.  As great as the new page looks
(awesome!), the one used now is much cleaner, easier to navigate, simpler,
etc.  It may not be quite as pretty, but it's lots more convenient.
-Chris

(...) All that you've said works great, if you add "...for experienced users". Which is why it's a good idea to seperate between the two, IMHO. -Shiri (24 years ago, 23-Jun-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
