If you look at the design, there is a half-pin around the ancle or calf that keeps the thigh from over extending. Mine (at first) had a problem standing, with the knee joint being slightly out and the half pin did not prevent it from over rotating. (...) I am interested in buying a couple 4561s for parts. I really only want the windows, tracks, long tiles, and a couple ramps. Where are 4561s available so cheap? Note that most of the motorized compressors I've seen on the web do not use the large pump that comes with the explorer sub, they use the smaller things. Somewhere there is a web site that describes using an RCX to measure the efficiency of 3 (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)

Mine --- er, "my daughter's" (it was her birthday gift after all :-), stands just fine, with the heel pointing down. In fact, with the heel flat, he would probably topple backward. I think it would be a bit much to trade for - a person would have to add a TON of bricks, pushing the shipping costs for the box skyhigh, or add a complete set or 2. LEGO boxes just don't seem like the right material for a collection [especially if you never use the pieces [LEGO stuff is (...) Karl, I don't know about the barcode set, but I have both of the other ones. If you need gears, go for the shuttle, if you can still get it. It's got loads of them.
