Once again I come out of lurking and actually say something. I just got into 'virtual LEGO' a few weeks ago, after stumbling across it when serfing about the RCX. have you tested this approach? it seems like it would work, but the light sensor would have to be fairly far off the surface to get a wide viewing area. it seems it would also get a little hairy with the inconsistency of lighting to determine (...) (27 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

my rcx works fine with a universal ac to dc wall outlet. it has a switch to change the voltage. i've got it set at 9v and it operates at 800mA max. i figured 6 batteries x 1.5v =9v. i think it was originally for a keyboard (musical instrument, not (...) I played around with sensors and wires, and came up with a way to use the touch sensor as a switch. See my post at lugnet.cad.dat.ideas (URL). Here a touch sensor is used as a switch. See my post at lugnet.robotics for more details. Electric plates of the same color belong to the same wire. The green plate is the input. I really liked Ramblin' Robots by Ingrid Wickelgren. I learned some general things about robots - even though the book was written for teenagers. A book aimed at younger kids is Robotics by T.
