Probably the weirdest and most rare LEGO item I own is the 2x2 inverse slope in
CLEAR that I got from the Model Shop tour at LEGOLAND California with PNLTC in
August 2001. The model builder told us the pieces were ordered my mistake and
would probably be destroyed since they had no use for them.

You must be kidding, they destroy pieces becuase of an odd colour? Give them away,
how hard can that be? Destroying Lego on purpose ought to be a criminal offence.
