Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(FUT .castle) Hey guys! This was a real spontaneous thing, I think it came out nicely! LMKWYT. (URL) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build, lugnet.general) !!

Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) I've been messing around with some similar stuff, but nothing much past figuring out a good scale. James (URL) getting paid for this --> alladvantage.com Sign up via me, the reference $$ go to fund Lugnet. (24 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) Pretty nice, darlin'! I like the way you did the Inn roof; I'd never thought of something like that. Now, you need to expand and make a HUGE town. Maybe for part of it you could use that baseplate I sent you... -Chris (24 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) Thanks! It took me a while to figure out. At first I just used an apex piece and a peak, but it didn't look right and anyway that's not what I'm gonna do to the bigger inn's roof. (...) Well, the BP you sent me will join the others I'm about (...) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) It worked out really well, especially the Inn's roof. I haven't seen microfig scale used for a townscape (I must get out more, :) ). Maybe Australians should work in that scale exclusively (Lego prices in Oz). Could you whip up a bigger town, I (...) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) Thanks! (...) Hmm... when I started, the only things I decided for sure were: a. my inn had to be part of it b. the whole town had to fit on an island baseplate I had no idea how many buildings will be there whatsoever - just that there will (...) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

Ouch... I'm replying to every reply in this thread... :-) (...) Thanks! I haven't seen any microfig towns either... (...) And in Israel ;-) (...) Yeah, I thought of doing my capital city/main castle in microfig since I don't have enough bricks (...) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) Hee, hee. Here's another one for you to reply to. One comment, and I'll quit buggin' you. ;) You should do a NANOfig scale city (1x1x3 skyscapers, small buildings as 1x1 plates, etc. Just an idea, I don't know how it'd look. -Chris (24 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) Out of principle, I WON'T reply! "Um, Shiri...? You just did." "Oh. Ooops." ;-) (...) That'd be cool, but it would be really hard to convey what it is, I guess... -Shiri (24 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) For baseplates that are completely flat (i.e. no vertical geographical features like hills) all you have to do is flip it over and bend it a few times in different directions. Then, of course, you have to spend a few minutes looking for some (...) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) Shiri - I think you've really come on to something. You could use it as a base map, like in the CastleWorld map, and then have each building as a link - like to the Bloodstone Inn. I'm thinking that that's what I'm gonna do when I get a (...) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

I've got one in the kitchen, one beside my dining room table, one beside the computer (and primary LEGO sorting [and every once in a blue moon building] station), one in the bathroom (you never (...)   Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) In junior high, we had a classroom project which was built to such a scale. It was a study of Seattle WA, and different color bricks represented different types of buildings. I'd love to get the baseplate (it had the harbor and lake printed on (...) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general)

Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) Shiri, Super job, I really like your little-big town :-). Great job documenting the roof and doing a corner peek.   Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) No, don't say it: you are (searching for subtle euphemism) "passing" bricks? Oooooo, and you have to use a brick separator? Ouch. You are taking this Lego stuff too far! :-) Bruce (24 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) Well, I only have three, but I usually find that one of them is lost in the pile of junk mail on the desk. I try to keep them all together so I don't have to build any contraptions to get the 1x2 plate stack apart. John (24 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) Yeah, it sounds like a great thing! I might try it soon, the 6766 I got will help a lot... lots of brown and green.   Re: Helfire - a microfig scale castle town

(...) Frank, I don't remember ever having seen a 48x48 (or 50x50) baseplate in anything other than all gray. The only exception to this (AFAIK) was a 50x50 1970 Samsonite only LEGO green plate with a curvy "T" shaped roadway on it. Since this (...) (...) Well, there is another exception of course, but it's rather current... The Soccer baseplate, 48x48 green... This was a flat baseplate, with printing, I don't think it had any unstudded area (i.e. not a custom mold). It could easily have been a (...)
