Steve mentioned that NA was how it should start, it would/will not be a
permanent state.

I don't know, Steve will have to answer that question.

I have not spoken with anyone at LEGO, Steve has. I have had some e-mail
communication with LD but it is specific to a show we are doing here in
Raleigh in June. I am helping Steve out with this because he asked for help
and I had access to a mailing list manager.

The intent is not to limit it to NA but like lots of things, you need a
solid baseline to start.
I suspect that 99% of the communication on the lists will be related to
working out issues with GATS, Greenburg, or some other show promoter.
Greenburg has obviously seen value in promoting a LEGO layout, it is top
billing on their flyer. It makes sense to share best practices in a forum
that is not on display for public viewing (others may feel differently but
that is my opinion).
Re-reading my post from yesterday I think I emphasized the LD involvement
too much. Please don't get paranoid about this effort, in my opinion this
effort is no different than local groups moving some of their dicussion out
of lugnet.org.abc.xyz onto a mailing list. For one reason or another, they
have decided that they prefer that some parts of their communication not be
visible on LUGNET.

| (...) Huh? You have to be kidding. In every train show that WAMALUG has participated in, the promoter *begged* us to put up a display. There have never been any issues that I am aware of. Is such a group necessary? Is it even desiarable, considering (...) (24 years ago, 3-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains.org)
