Thanks for sharing these pictures.

4511 Passenger train - I did prefer the red stripe (ICE) and the
roof details. I don't like how the front wheels are so far back.

It's also dissapointing, that it only has one car. You really need two sets,
to make a decent train...

I think it would have been good to have a model of the ICE, but since it's
not a good copy the colour doesn't bother me.  So long as this isn't a set
with track and a speed regulator, I think this is a good way to sell it.
Think about it.  It only has one engine and one carriage, so you can buy
another and connect them back-to-back if you want to.  The Metroliner had
two engines, which meant that buying another set for additional carriages
left you with a lot of wasted parts.

I wonder how many parts the front is made from though, and if they're going
to be any use in MOCs.

4512 Freight Train -  the Octan wagon on the original picture looked
interesting, it looks as if we have got another hopper instead.

I agree. a shame really.  There's already a better hopper available from LD.

4513 Station - I see the base is now made out of three sections,
and it is now in yellow - maybe it will add on to 4554 nicely.

It's much better than the drab dark grey we saw before.

4514 Cargo Crane - I hope this has been forgotten about - we don't need
another one.

Maybe the leak was to test the reactions...?

<set:4565> is not in the 2003 catalog so it looks like it's being discontinued.

It's always a shame when a set gets cancelled, but I think this one's had a
good run.  Has everyone that wants one got one by now?  I guess this is
hinting at the new 4512 being a replacement full set, with at least track if
not motor and power supply.  I hope the passenger train one isn't though, so
at least there are alternative price points.

Thanks for sharing the 2003 pictures. It is good to see the product development. The display are staged (with the set numbers) to show what you get with each set. I wondered if there was any more information say telling you if there is a speed (...) (22 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.trains)
