Hi all, I have a source that is able to produce replacement stickers and labels for lego sets. This includes the ones on clear backing, like those in the old 4.5v and 12v train sets. Hi, I've rebuild my swiss SBB/CFF wine car now with gray plates. I could buy these in LEGOLAND Deutschland (Günzburg). They now have a factory outlet. You can buy the most common bricks, plates, tiles and slopes (also maccaronies) in many colors (...) (22 years ago, 17-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains) !

(...) Based on my experience I would say that there are quite a few cabooses still in use, but mainly on the local jobs. (...) You're in Canada, though... in the US the railway unions that required 5 people for a 2-3 person job in order to "preserve jobs" have been broken and the caboose is no more. (...) In US terminology, the conductor was the boss of the train. And yes, on passenger trains, the conductor was usually the one collecting tickets. I think they are actually a different formulation of ABS than the standard. I built mine Thurs evening after eating dinner. They certainly are nice kits, and I REALLY like the fact that you can carefully fit 2 built cars into one box and close it (...) (22 years ago, 13-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains)

The mutilation is not the tubing cutting, it is in taking the wheel off the car steering wheel part as the nub on the base is heat formed to hold the wheel on, it's not intended to be removed. Great work guys! The work and discovery by Jeremy, Dave, and Steve shown below inspired me to try a similar shroud for non-motorized 9v train wheels. As 9v volt wheel housings are exactly 6 studs wide, the edge-to-edge solution shown below is wider (...) (22 years ago, 10-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Please do! (...) I'd advise using white (artgum) rather than pink, as pink has abrasive in it. If white works as well, you've saved abrading your track a bit.
