Well, here in Sweden the city fire trucks are red, but the airport ones are
mainly yellow (and a red streak). I'm sure I've seen lime green ones too,
but can't remember where - Kastrup/Copenhagen, Denmark maybe, or was it
Kloten/Zürich, Switzerland?
Looking out over an airfield, I feel the yellow truck is very visible, no
planes or ground vehicles have the same colour, while red can be seen both
on planes and delivery trucks, and the dirty orange used on snow plows, sand
trucks etc. is almost like red when the light is dimmed.
As a side note, I spent most of 1978 driving an airfield fire truck when
doing my non-military military service, drag-racing along the airstrip and
chasing rabbits with the water cannon during daily warm-up...

| (...) Sorry, I should have clarified. I was really speaking in hyperbole for effect. More accurately, I feel that for traditional reasons standard city fire trucks (pumpers, ladders, tillers etc.) should be red. However, as has been pointed out, (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.technic)
