Sorry, I should have clarified. I was really speaking in hyperbole for
effect. More accurately, I feel that for traditional reasons standard city
fire trucks (pumpers, ladders, tillers etc.) should be red. However, as has
been pointed out, this isn't necessarily the safest choice of colors.

I agree that for the airport crash vehicles bright yellow (not lime green)
is the best color. This provides visibility and also enhances what I think
is the obvious beauty and simplicity of their design.
