I'm currently working for Tenix, who are building ANZAC frigates for the Aus &
NZ navies. They have these really neat vehicles for loading modules off
barges[1]. They have 12 individually steerable axles, which can also be
individually adjusted for height / load. The axles are in 4 groups of three,
six on each side, and each axle has 4 (!) wheels. The whole thing is about 1
1/2 times the width of a normal truck, and about 2m high, with the top being
flat over it's entire area. Modules are delivered mounted on pedestals, this
vehicle simply drives underneath, jacks itself up lifting the module off the
pedestals, and drives away.
I'll try & get a picture of one of these, but they don't like people taking
pictures willy-nilly around here...

[1] These ships are modular - a whole story in themselves, but basically the
hull is built at the sight I work, in large modules which are welded together.
All the superstructure is also modular, but is built elsewhere, and shipped
here on barges to be "mated" with the hull modules.
