Radio-controlled model airplanes often have the tubing. You can find Lego-pneumatic-compatible tubing and connectors at hobby shops that sell parts for radio-controlled model airplanes. As to more traction, you could use alternating regular chain links and tread links and mount a 1x4 plate on each tread link, studs out. I'm not sure how realistic this would (...) (...) Those treads are a Dacta item. You can bulk order them. They are somewhat slippery for use as treads. They are like the chain links with an extra bar molded over the top of each link. I think Dacta calls them conveyer belt links. (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Lego customer service is really good about this (as has been written before on this newsgroup). This is a known problem with this motor. On the suggestion of the various posters, I called up Lego Customer Service (number listed on their web site and (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.technic)
