Summer Goal: Complete Sort & Storage

This summer, I have resolved to completely sort and organize my collection. I tried this once before, a few years ago, but lack of money to purchase organizing bins (plus, a total lack of room in my studio apartment to set up said bins) nixed that (...)   Re: Warped baseplates: can they be restored to flatness?

This may be a long shot- but you could try steaming them and then applying gentle pressure. Abs does allow for some moulding. Beware as you do not want to steam it too long-if you warp the studs the peice will be useless. You could build a decent (...) (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Warped baseplates: can they be restored to flatness?

(...) They were stacked flat at one time, but must've slid somewhere along the 18 or so years they'd been packed away. Only two of the baseplates were damaged, but it's pretty severe (I can slide a plate under the bow in the worst of them). It's not (...) (21 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Warped baseplates: can they be restored to flatness?

(...) Build heavy models on top of them. Ha, ha. I'm afraid I can't think of anything else. How did they get warped? Were they not stacked flat? -Teddy (21 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.storage)

Warped baseplates: can they be restored to flatness?

A few months back I discovered my cache of baseplates from when I was a kid. Unfortunately, some of the smaller ones (8 x 16) were bowed and/or warped. I tried pressing them in the pages of a large book for a month, but on looking this evening, they (...) (21 years ago, 23-May-04, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Do you save boxes and catalogs?

(...) For the past 25 years I have kept all my Lego boxes with the thinking that they make my collection complete--I have all the pieces, instructions, and the boxes. But being that I never intend to sell my personal collection of Lego (and if I did (...) (21 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.storage)

Re: Brick Storage Showcase (and some padding to make lines wrap well)

(...) Okay---if you like fuzzy pictures[0]. The heart of my storage system is an array of Gracious Living drawer units[1] (URL) use a three drawer pattern to store basic plates, 1xn bricks, and 2xn bricks in the basic colors (gray, dkgray, tan, (...) (21 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Storing Minifig Torsos and Heads

(...) Thomas, Maybe some double-stick tape or sticky tack (if it will adhere to the platic) will make a re-usuable fastener. I like the idead of heat-forming the pockets better, if it works. -Brian (21 years ago, 15-Apr-04, to lugnet.storage, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: Storing Minifig Torsos and Heads

(...) Huh. Having not actually tried this, I was not expecting that result at all, but it does make sense (not that there's any point arguing with practical experience). (...) Another posibility might be to fill a page with some unpopular torsos (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.storage, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: Storing Minifig Torsos and Heads

(...) I like. I picked up some 30-compartment pages for $0.69 apiece, and three fit nicely into a 1" binder.   Re: Storing Minifig Torsos and Heads

(...) right? I do use similar boxes (although I'm a Shimano man, myself) for torsos of which I only have 5--10 (Dragon Masters, etc.), but when you only have one or two of each type I think that most tackle boxes are too deep---half the torsos will (...)   Re: Storing Minifig Torsos and Heads

Re: Storing Minifig Torsos and Heads

(...) This is going to sound really strange, but given your specific needs, have you considered coin pages? You should be able to find some type that's just the right size to fit minifig torsos (I'd suggest getting frosted pages if you can), and a (...)   Storing Minifig Torsos and Heads

Does anyone have any suggestions for storing low-repetition minifig torsos (and heads)? I'm thinking of those torsos (like those in Island Xtreme sets) which are sufficiently distinctive that you would only use one or two of each in a layout, while (...)
