  New Survey up for LEGO

LEGO wants to know what UCS sets you'd like to see. If you have an interest, stop by and put in your vote! Tim (URL) if the link doesn't show, use the "From Bricks to Bothans" link on the .starwars main pag (24 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

(...) Hmm... I'm guessing that the #1 UCS set that we all want is... Millenium Falcon! Followed by AT-AT and perhaps a Star Destroyer... Those were my votes in that order by the way. AND I'd be willing to pay $200+ if the model is good! :) Bryan (24 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

(...) Totally. (Please note that the following rave is based on a minimum of personal experience of the sets in question.) If I'm only going to get one UCS model, I want the Falcon. Compare the System X-wing and the UCS X-wing (in terms of scale, (...) (24 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

Now what would be really cool is if they made the UCS Falcon near-minifig scale so you could convert it. :^) I suppose for it to remain below $250 it would need to be pretty close to the correct scale anyway. ~Mark (...) interest, (...) Millenium (...) (24 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

Ok first... My three were the B-wing, AAT and the Falcon. Second, I was sitting here thinking... if LEGO did come out with a $300 Falcon set... it MIGHT not do that well at retail. I am not that sure what the cost for them would be for packaging (as (...) (24 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

(...) Mabie this is an idea for the guild of bricksmiths in conjunction with lego direct bulk ordering: the guild makes a model and a set of instructions then they can make a few large orders to lego direct to get the grey parts and they are on (...) (24 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

I really think a UCS A-Wing would be great, and because of the size of the ship they could probably make the thing for $100. My choices were largely based on reality, I can easily imagine a UCS A-Wing or B-Wing or even AT-ST, but I cannot imagine a (...) (24 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

(...) Why does everyone keeps thinking the scale of TLC's 'system' Falcon is too small. It is dead on compared to thier X-wing. It must be that whole deal that the interior sets for the Falcon is 40 percent larger that the 'life-size' model they (...) (24 years ago, 30-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

(...) ARGH!!@#!@# Where's the Lambda Class Shuttle?! Fine *looks generally ticked off* That's second favourite vehicle up there with the AT-AT. Argh#@$#@$#@$ Anyway, pointless rant over (24 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

It's right next to Jabba's Sail Barge. It's called "Imperial Shuttle." Dave Kya Morden <erythrite@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:390d061b.806742...net.com... (...) interest, (...) (24 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

Everybody remember to vote for the Falcon! I did! :-) Dave (24 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

(...) Making the Death Star as a UCS set wouldn't make sense. In order to make it large enough to see sufficient detail to justify the UCS status, it would have to be huge. I'm not interested in a $500 model that's essentially a gray sphere. I want (...) (24 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Where are these survey answers coming from? (was: New Survey up for LEGO)

(...) Tim, I think it's totally great that "LEGO" (whatever that means) is soliciting feedback about SW:UCS sets!, but I'm still suspicious that this is an unofficial channel. If it is, then not only would it be misleading to say "LEGO wants to (...) (24 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

(...) Out of curiosity, where are you getting your numbers from? According to the SW site, the falcon is 27 meters long, which translates into about 88.5 feet, which should be 620mm long as a minifig scale model (1 minifig foot ~ 7mm, given that a (...)   Re: Where are these survey answers coming from? (was: New Survey up for LEGO)

(...) I just wanted to second Todd's thoughts here. The main reason I have not participated in the survey is that it seems "fishy" to me. It seems to me if LEGO wanted an "Offical Survey" they would do it themselves not through a supposidly (...) (24 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) as (...) they're (...) I'll (...) about (...) I am going by the dimensions of the Life-sized model seen in the Star Wars Trilogy. The sets seen in the movies occupy 40% more space than is available in the life-sized model. What the Star Wars (...) (24 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

(...) I realised that about 30 seconds after my incoherency. So I voted for the Imperial Shuttle, AT-AT, and Trade Fed Droid Control Center whatever the thing that Anakin blew up with the Naboo Fighter. (24 years ago, 2-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

(...) hmmm... UCS death star... the first toy ever visible from space:) Alan (24 years ago, 2-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Where are these survey answers coming from? (was: New Survey up for LEGO)

Guys, it's really pretty simple: my contact has asked not to be revelead by name or position. And I will respect that. Trust me that they have given me proof that they are legit, and I would not have features like "Ask LEGO!" if I wasn't sure that (...) (24 years ago, 2-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Where are these survey answers coming from? (was: New Survey up for LEGO)

(...) Tim, If all this is true then thats fine. What my point is is that with all the secrecy involved your survey lacks a certain amount of credibility in my eyes. If this person were to reveal themselves and open a discusion with us like Brad (...) (24 years ago, 2-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Survey up for LEGO

I went with the Falcon, AT-AT and it was a toss up between a Sand Crawler (which we have actually seen) and the Imperial Shuttle. Although an all silver brick Queens Nubian Starship would be very cool. I wouldn't waste my votes on anything that (...) (24 years ago, 2-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Where are these survey answers coming from? (was: New Survey up for LEGO)

(...) Tim, wouldn't you agree, that's a very odd request for them to make? (Not so much the name part but the position part.) (...) So if I happened to casually mention this whole thing to a LEGO IP attorney (in a meeting coming up in a couple of (...) (24 years ago, 2-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Where are these survey answers coming from? (was: New Survey up for LEGO)

(...) I don't think this is an odd request. Perhaps this is a person that can supply Lego with the ideas of the fans as their own. However, having the company know this may jeopardize their job. (...) Most likely no and it might just scare them into (...) (24 years ago, 3-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Where are these survey answers coming from? (was: New Survey up for LEGO)

(...) It may be, but I respect Tim for respecting his contac't wishes. Let's face it, it could be a cleaner, the MD, the mild-mannered janitor or it could even be some unknown power having fun with Tim. Either way this has all been good Lego based (...)   Re: Where are these survey answers coming from? (was: New Survey up for LEGO)

(...) No, I don't find it odd at all. They asked that I don't do it, I respected that, and it is none of anyone's business anyway. (...) Perhaps it would help if I knew what you were talking about. (...) I really don't consider this to be your (...) (24 years ago, 3-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Where are these survey answers coming from? (was: New Survey up for LEGO)

(...) Absolutely, I do as well. (I hope it didn't sound as though I was trying to prod Tim for information -- my only point is, as a hardcore LEGO and Star Wars fan, I think it's really odd behavior for LEGO, so I can't put much weight on it. I do (...) (24 years ago, 3-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Where are these survey answers coming from? (was: New Survey up for LEGO)

(...) I don't either -- that's why I wrote "Can you tell us...?" rather than "Please tell us..." (...) That says it all right there. As a Star Wars fan and a LEGO fan, I can now take the survey seriously. Thanks. --Todd (24 years ago, 3-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)
