Why does everyone keeps thinking the scale of TLC's 'system' Falcon is too
small.  It is dead on compared to thier X-wing.  It must be that whole deal
that the interior sets for the Falcon is 40 percent larger that the
'life-size' model they made.  Lego's external scale for the Falcon is about • as
close to perfect as it can get.  All the MOC's are, oddly enough, 40 percent
too big.

Out of curiosity, where are you getting your numbers from? According to the SW
site, the falcon is 27 meters long, which translates into about 88.5 feet,
which should be 620mm long as a minifig scale model (1 minifig foot ~ 7mm,
given that a minifig is about 42mm tall), or about 77.5 studs long (1 stud ~
8mm). Granted I forget how large the UFO 1/4 circles are, but in order to be
accurate, they'd need to be 28 studs long per 1/4 circle. I don't think • they're
that big... maybe 16 at the largest? I think that's even overestimating... • I'll
have to see... but assuming they're 16 studs, that puts the TLC falcon at • about
53 studs long-- about 2/3 the 'correct' length... Assuming 53 studs was
accurate, that'd put the Falcon at about 18 meters long?

I am going by the dimensions of the Life-sized model seen in the Star Wars
Trilogy.  The sets seen in the movies occupy 40% more space than is available
in the life-sized model.  What the Star Wars website lists is irrelevent when
we watch the movies and see the Falcon and X-wing life size models.  We also
see those ships flying next to each other.  At movie scale TLC's Falcon is near
perfect.

On the other hand, I do recall that the TLC system X-Wing was just about
accurate... and the snowspeeder and speeder bikes were just a bit too big! • (the
speeder bike was actually about twice as long I think... I forget offhand)
