I don't think this is an odd request. Perhaps this is a person that can supply
Lego with the ideas of the fans as their own. However, having the company know
this may jeopardize their job.

Most likely no and it might just scare them into thinking that someone is
'leaking' information when they are, in fact, not.

I can give you several. I know of a lot of 'fan' sites that do these kinds of
things from the music industry to the computer game market. This is a way for the
company to feel things out, without any risk to themselves since they can claim
this was an Unofficial thing. Of coarse they want to know what we think of their
product and I'm sure they do survey after survey but this only gives you the
information you ask for. So if you don't ask the correct question all your
surveying is for not. BUT if you have a place that you can hide in, like a duck
blind, and call the ducks to you so you can watch them you might learn something
you would never have thought of. AND you have deniability, so if a product
doesn't come out or you use someone's idea your company is covered.
Makes sense to me,
