I think I was
one of only two people that still has not seen Titanic and it did have more
broad based appeal.  Star Wars has its fans and they will help it into the top
ten and maybe up to #2 but I don't think that Star Wars will have the
"cross-over" appeal that Titanic did.

One of only two?  I think not!  Despite the propoganda put out by the media,
many people still refuse to see Titanic, myself included.  I can count about 20
people right off the top of my head who are boycotting Titanic by virtue of the
fact we think it's a crappy movie.  On the other hand, most of us have seen TPM
at least once, many of us more.

You think it is a crappy movie?  Based on what?  Media description?  Gut-level
intuition?  Other peoples opinions (who may or may not have seen it)?
A blanket denigration of something without some kind of firsthand knowledge (IE
*see the movie*) is foolish, IMO. (1)   Tell you what, go blow a few dollars
and rent it.  Sit down and watch it with an open mind.  If, at that point, you
think it is a "crappy movie", more power to you.  I would respect that opinion.
Expousing an opinion about how bad something is - without a valid basis for
that opinion - earns no respect.

One thing I have learned: try not to prejudge.
There are a lot of movies (and books, and people, and whatever) that I have had
initial doubts about.  But I strive to remain neutral until I have firsthand
knowledge.  I have been pleasantly surprised many times.  And surprisingly
disappointed many times as well.  But I try to come by my opinions honestly.

Think for yourself - don't let others form your opinions for you.

1.  Please, no arguments of "Is murder bad?  How do you know unless you do it?"
