Originally they were going to call them Scooper Troopers, since their actual
job is to clean up after all those banthas and other large animals, but
someone managed to convince Lucas to change it at the last minute; so, we
got Sandtroopers instead. The fact that they're in a desert with all that
sand has very little to do with the name.
