For me, it's not economic so much as personal preference...I can afford the
plates, but I don't like the idea of breaking them up. I'd rather use the
pieces the way they are in some way, like a super-mod, or some part thereof.
I'm not completely against modifying one's Lego pieces, but if there's a way to
make things without doing so, I prefer that in my own modelling.
I haven't had the good fortune to go to any gatherings yet, but maybe one
day I will. I just like the concept, and this spin on it (the mini-moonbase
idea) is another cool option to play with and bring people togther.

Hey, those are COOL! Nice little people!
I only meant to point out that it's possible to use corridor connectors
scaled to the size of the micro-minifigs we'd be putting in there, the same as
the full-scale moonbase specs, so they could have the same opportunity to move
around and have fun. Micro-minifigs have feelings, too! *>)
