If we're really considering adding a microscale standard to Moonbase I think
it should be on gray plates like the minifig standard.  As odd as it may
sound I'm imagining microfig/minifig blended Moonbases.  A Legoland Miniland
display on the moon?  A portion of the Moonbase was shrunk by a Shpleevil
Shrink Ray?  Really small aliens?

I'm thinking about false perspective, a la Disneyworld (or Flemish painting),
with more "distant" modules raised up.  A layer or six of gray bricks would be
perfect, and yeah, it would hide green quite well.  Both a 16x16 and a 12x12
standard would work.

Has anyone tried to cut baseplates?  What works best?
