I agree with Nick and Adrian (with Nick's sugestion about corridor height
added). 16x16 with plates on top will make it more accessible to more builders.
I haven't built a moonbase module yet, due to lack of time and space; I can
hardly wait to start one of these little ones.
Plus:
1: At 5x5 inches they would fit in some CD boxes, shelves, and cases for storage
and transportation. (your mileage may vary)
2: Those who have them can still use the gray baseplates with plates around the
edges allowing them to leave a few craters in the middle.
3: It's also compatible with the old 32x32 moonbase baseplates, for those who
have them.
4: Nothing's stopping you from building a nine module layout on a 48x48
baseplate allowing for more intense moonscaping in the middle.
5: No one gets hurt after feeling compelled to cut up a 48x48 baseplate. (I know
you're careful and I'm careful, but someone could get hurt.)
6: Fewer individual creations are needed to combine with the regular standard
for "two scales in one" and perspective trickery.
7: I really like it and so do Nick and Adrian. :-D
Best to all,
Ley
