Hello.

The API documentation tool I use can generate HTML, LaTeX and manpages.
Unless Dimiti expands its capabilities to also generate PDF - or
somebody points me to a better tool and volunteers to convert the
sources that exist already - HTML should stay the primary distribution
format IMO. Thus, supplementary documentation should probably stick with
the same format in order not to confuse the user unnecessarily.

If somebody is willing to convert the documentation to PDF, like has
Mark offered, all the bettter. The more different media we can offer,
the larger our possible user base. HTML or PDF is largely a question of
personal taste. I happen to favour HTML, but that's a personal choice.
Generating one from the other will enhance consistency, too.

After I have taken my exam on Wednesday, I'll release a 0.1.7 beta,
mainly to allow everyone to play with the documentation. Hopefully it'll
converge into something halfway comprehensive and comprehensible.

Ciao,

Markus.

It's Doxygen. (URL) doc++ is also a viable alternative, but I've used doxygen before in Qt-based projects, where it is clearly superior. (26 years ago, 23-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

More than a few people have emailed me already telling me that PDF is not the way to go because it will limit who can contribute to it (thank you to those people, by the way, for keeping such comments to email rather than cluttering the newsgroup (...)
