Extreme Creatures, Cybermasters, etc? —Robert McIntyre
Hello All! I'm kicking around the idea (pretty seriously) of finally picking up a Mindstorms, and had a few questions: 1. MS vs CM; are they essentially the same except where the program is stored and executed? If so, what kind of range are we (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-98, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) No, they're actually fairly different. Cybermaster Mindstorms ---...--- Designed for "play" Designed for inventing Two built in motors Two external motors No motor/light outputs (?)       (...) Well, I can't give you a complete list of what's in it because I started mixing pieces from it and the basic set almost immediately, but here's a list of some of the pieces: Purple: 2 2x2 medium slope 2 2x2 medium inverted slope 8 2x4 technic (...)      Besides, the CM cd-rom encompasses an extensive and impressive 'computer game' sort of adventure, with lots of computeranimatons, like a LEGO ISLAND cd-rom title in itself. Very well done; must have been a work of labor for the production team. Eric (...) (26 years ago, 8-Oct-98, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Extreme Creatures, Cybermasters, etc? —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) I dunno that much about the technical side of MS or CM. As has been pointed out already, CM is made for playing to a larger extent than MS. I'd still say CM is rather good, though, and quite worthwile. It's probably a good alternative to the (...) (26 years ago, 8-Oct-98, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Extreme Creatures, Cybermasters, etc? —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) Well, there are five yellow wheels on each side, and the tread goes round them. The wheels are probably as large as the medium pulley and one stud wide, with a narrow but deep groove in the center to keep the treads on track. The treads are (...)         Re: Extreme Creatures, Cybermasters, etc? —Matthew Miller
(...) But you could use the treads without, yeah? I'd really like some better treads, as the ones that come in Mindstorms RIS, Tread Trekker, and Mountain Rambler are too small for a lot of things. (Particularly, hard to power and still have a lot (...) (26 years ago, 8-Oct-98, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Extreme Creatures, Cybermasters, etc? —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) Yes, you can. I haven't tried that, though, so it may very well be that you'll have a hard time trying build a chassis that fits the treads correctly. But it's probably just a matter of adjusting the yellow wheels properly. An interesting (...) (26 years ago, 9-Oct-98, to lugnet.robotics)
