There are a few people interested in running/helping with a continuation of
Cool LEGO Site of the Week, and I know I'm not alone in wanting it back. Let's
begin a fresh conversation on this!

Here are some prior comments:

CLSotW's current home:

Some issues to focus on:

- best format. Brainstorm!(What'd be fun, most fair, best exposure)
- how to execute it (working it in to LUGNET. forms? coding)
- who'd be involved. their roles.
- ease of maintenance, automation? longevity.
- relationship to the past CLSotW project
- hosted by LUGNET? votes cast as LUGNET members?

My biggest concern has been my lack of resources to devote to a new startup. So
your help and energy are really appreciated!

(...) CLSoTW should definetly be brought back! Since it's been gone, I've felt like I've missed out on some of what the online community has to offer. When CLSoTW was running before, I'd check out see sites that I'd normally not visit. With that (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jul-02, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

I'd definitely love to see the CLSotW come back. A few thoughts: 1. I agree that every other week might be better just from workload and quality of nominated sites angles. 2. Cool Site could alternate with Cool MOC, to get a chance to honor those (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jul-02, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

(...) Would it be possible to coordinate the selection using the existing "spotlight" system? Something along these lines: Submissions: * Sites are submitted for consideration by posting them to a specific group. It could for example be named (...) (...) of the most frustrated person to see it disappear! Anyway, here are some ideas of my own: Format: I think it should be based on the rating of the site, rather than a voting system as it was before. People, probably only Lugnet members, could (...)   Re: Rebirth of Cool LEGO Site of the Week

Some thoughts about CLSotW: * The rate of new LEGO sites coming online is quite a bit slower than one per week, I believe. As a result, you will soon find that there aren't enough new sites to prevent having to award the prize to an old site. I (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jul-02, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)
Re: Rebirth of Cool LEGO Site of the Week

My thoughts on the CLSotW are as follows: The CLSotW should remain weekly. The fresh content is something that will keep people coming back to LUGNET. While it might require more work, I think that could be avoided depending on how it was set up. (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jul-02, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

First, I must say, hooray! I was deep in my dark ages when I first came across Lugnet. I did some coming back every now and then to see the new CLSOTW. 18 months later I come back, fully out of my dark ages and see my favorite thing I remembered (...)
