Re: January 28th, 2006 SMART Meeting

I've had four people ask about a wider line, including two that were concerned that if the line wasn't really 3/4" wide, their light sensors wouldn't be able to track the line properly. In fact, the "3/4-inch" tape is just a bit under 3/4", so I'm (...) (18 years ago, 27-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: January 28th, 2006 SMART Meeting

Last reminder about Saturday's meeting (2pm, Digipen; mini-challenge is there-and-back-again drag racing). Has anyone built a GBC (Great Ball Contraption) module that they could bring to the meeting? I'd like to have one or more to demonstrate what (...) (18 years ago, 27-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: January 28th, 2006 SMART Meeting

I thought the ascii-art would be understandable, but I've made a picture with the dimensions and starting configuration for the drag-racing arena that you can find here: (URL) that helps. Don't worry too much about the details. You can even bring (...) (18 years ago, 23-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: January 28th, 2006 SMART Meeting

Hi Ben, Looking forward to hearing about CES. I'm not sure if you got David post before or after you made your post. I just saw your post even though it looks like it was time-stamped a few days ago. Not sure what's going on. Anyway, here is my (...) (18 years ago, 23-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: January 28th, 2006 SMART Meeting

I could use some clarification on the track material and layout. I've been using the paper track that comes with the mindstorm kit to practice and just realized the line is 1" wide. It sounds like you are going to use a 3/4" line instead. Is this (...) (18 years ago, 19-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: January 28th, 2006 SMART Meeting

(...) One week left to build your most amazing drag racing robots! I've had a couple of questions about the arena and event which I'll answer here. First of all, the arena will be made out of separate boards that are painted white. This means that (...) (18 years ago, 22-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

The nxt SMART meeting is going to be January 28th. This will be our 5th anniversary! The mini-challenge is to build a drag-racer.   Re: November 19th, 2005 SMART Meeting

(...) Just a little under two weeks to try to cross the largest gap you can with a robot. If some of you haven't attempted a mini-challenge before, the main objective is to learn. Tackle as much of the task as you feel you are able to; you don't (...) (19 years ago, 8-Nov-05, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: Robothon Recap - Welcome to SMART

(...) I'm kind of kicking myself for taking my robot to NorthWest BrickCon, which while it obviously had far far more Lego than Robothon, didn't have the emphasis on robotics of Robothon. I only found out after the events that Robothon was taking (...) (19 years ago, 11-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.smart)
