Appologies for not threading... The part was first used both for a letter-box in town: 6362, 6372, 6374, 6651 And for a storage box in space. 6823, 6844, 6930, 6951[1984] Also, it was released in 1983 I believe. I would not call them safes for two reasons: 1. that is a fairly recent use of the part, it is much older than the wild west sets 2. how many safes have you ever seen that have a slot almost large enough for a person to stick their hand into? First, they are mailboxes, NOT safes! John, how large an opening do you have to cover with the clear pieces? I have quite a few of the thin wall pieces in clear, 4 wide 3 high (26), 2 wide 3 high (18) and 2 wide 2 high (8). These are the same type (...) (24 years ago, 20-Aug-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

(...) For a few years I lived in Vulcan, which held the record for the most wooden grain elevators (11?) lined up along the railroad tracks. Checking... 5563 has 4 2-high and 2 3-high clear 2-wide thinwalls 5571 has 2 2-high and 2 3-high clear 2-wide thinwalls and my incomplete 5581 has 4 3-high trans blue 4-wide thinwalls That's all I found. Hi John, I have 9 grey, 4 white and 2 black mailboxes. (...) The circle is 16 inches in diameter. On a 30.5 x 61 table, the middle is 32 inches from one side and 12.5 inches from another edge.
