Sorry, what equally useful alternatives are there for CounterSrike or Half Life?
These are games. Either a game is on the platform in question or it isn't.
If it isn't on the platform, there IS NO alternative for it. There might be
other games but they're not alternatives, they're other games.
If you're a true gamer (1), you have multiple platforms so you can play the
games you like on the platforms they are on. There are no substitutes or
equivalencies.
This ignores the argument that games aren't useful, per se, and thus don't
matter, which COULD be made in rebuttal but which I don't agree with.
1 - note I'm not a true gamer, although I do visit GameSpy.com, get Game
Informer Magazine and read Penny Arcade... as proof: for platforms I only
have the N64, which is very tired iron, and PC. No PS2/GameCube/Xbox in this
house yet.

| Rock on wif yo bad self. Games are a big factor in what system I use. I haven't got the money to buy all the consoles so I get very picky. I base my purchase on not the system and it's performace stats, but the games. Cuz honestly, a gamecube could (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
