Hmm... I'm in the Netherlands. i doubt DSL is available yet, or for
the next 5 years or so. And then it'll prolly cost $300/month. :(

Of course, the aforementioned cable modem, tho being limited to 115k2
(and often getting less at busy times) is only $30/month, without
extra phone costs (local calls go at $1/hr here, you can imagine the
phonebills....)
