It wouldn't be unimportant, sure the Ecological impacts would be horrible,
but hey, most silos that I know of aren't exactly near town, and Nuclear
weapons are only cumulative to a point, other than that they just make the
area of the blast itself worse they don't expand the blast area a whole lot.
Plus there are missile defense systems out there, and I'm sure that Silos
have some sort of defense, The military isn't that stupid(1).
