In 1973, Achmed Bouchiki was murdered in Lillehammer, Norway.
Investigations revealed that a group of approximately 15 people were
sent from Israel to commit the crime. It has been assumed that Ali
Hassan Salameh, probably the leader of the Münched massacre in 1972,
was the real target of the operation.
However, Israel did not undertake the responsibility for the murder
until 1996, when Bouchiki's widow was given a compensation by the
Israeli state.
The "Lillehammer case" is the only known terrorist attack on Norwegian
soil since the WWII.
