But now the picture is far more complicated. If we climb
down now and change our foreign policy suddenly, won't this
send the tacit signal that terrorism is the best way to get
what you want?
For now, I agree with Larry. Find the nests of vipers and
visit great and terrible destruction upon them (and only them,
as much as can be discriminated). Bring those to justice by
law who can be brought to justice by law. Send that message
first, and *then*, from a position of power, revise our
foreign policy positions.
We can't make any definitive decisions until we have a full
accounting of what's happening. Right now, as Americans, we
rightly reserve the right to exact vengeance against those
who have cravenly attacked our people.
