  Re: Authorized Lego retailers

(...) Holy cow, I just went to that site and it's almost a carbon copy of the Shop at Home website! Wonder how long before that site is taken down... -Bryan (22 years ago, 10-Aug-04, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.market.brickshops)

(...) That's the thing Jake, I think Ray is saying it's the same guy. (...) I'm sure I'm not the only one who is much obliged. Maggie C. (22 years ago, 10-Aug-04, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.market.brickshops)

  Re: Authorized Lego retailers

(...) There is some evidence to suggest that #1 and #2 could be the same entity. Even if they are not the same entity, public information shows that they are no more than 20 miles apart from one another. Draw your own conclusions if you will.   Re: Authorized Lego retailers

So someone can purchase sets from the following sources: 1.Retail outlets 2.Lego.com as an individual paying full retail price 3.Lego.com as one of their authorized (...)   Where has all the Duplo gone?

As a big AFOL and also a parent, I always make a point to scope out the Duplo section when shopping. But what I have noticed is that (at least in Singapore), the amount of shelf space allocated to Duplo is now miniscule. Just one tub and train set (...)   Re: Lego Information

(...) Well considering that I'm single and you're not, I would say that you're currently more succesful in that regard. -Orion (22 years ago, 22-Jul-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Lego Information

(...) I believe the LEGO group of companies to be a corporation (or several) or the Danish (or local operating country, for subsidiaries) equivalent. I just believe that these are not PUBLIC corporations with stock traded on exchanges, but rather (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.market.theory)

  Fry's 30% off

For any of my fellow Lugneters in Metro Phoenix. Fry's is having a 30% off sale on all Lego sets. If you are a VIP member the discount is better and you can't combine. I tried. If you don't know Fry's. It is a grocery store and their super centers (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Regarding Bricklink Utilities

(...) Optimal cost is, I'm sure, a very difficult problem (probably NP-complete). But even ignoring shipping costs would be a good place to start. Minimizing the number of stores reduces shipping cost. It may not the absolutely lowest cost, but it's (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.market.shopping, FTX)

  Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

(...) When the AFOL community asks for something and the response is that we represent only 5% of their market so don't expect anything, that does send the message that we are not important to them. (If they want to give me "only 5%" of the money (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

(...) I don't think it does either. At least not completely, because the market isn't a shifting one (at least not at the like LEGO/don't like LEGO level) I'm just drawing the analogy to the very first people in that model that take something up (...)   Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

(...) It would help if I realised Chris was talking about BrickShelf instead of BrickLink. I still think the point stands though... not all users are current users and not all users are serious AFOLs, it's (somewhat more?/about as/nearly as?) likely (...)   Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

(...) Minor detail: not all LUGNET members are AFOLs, since AFOL stands for Adult Fan Of LEGO and only people 18+ are adults. I am a TFOL, by the way, and what you would call a 'serious AFOL' Nathan Wells (22 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.market.theory, FTX)

  Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

(...) They've never said that. 5% is simply 5%. Each company decision has a business case behind it. Certain AFOL wants have favorable cases, others don't.   Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

(...) I think we are in overall agreement. Just to clarify, I was talking about BrickSHELF not BrickLINK.   Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

(...) That's never been my assumption, but it's a good place to start. While all Lugnet members are AFOLs, not all of them would qualify in my book as "serious AFOLs". I should also clarify that my definition of "serious AFOL" is probably different (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.market.theory)
