What do folks have against Yahoo Groups?
It is tailor made for groups like this after all
Lets see

All of which is ready built into Yahoo Groups.

Yahoo lets you very easily define your own databases
Also you can store files - like pictures, instructions, etc
I suppose you would have to expect that a bunch of Lego fans would want to build their own solution!
But given that probably 90%+ of the functionality required already exists, is free, and requires no programming or
custom development, and could exist tomorrow .... (but hey, this has never stopped developers getting in the way of
business has it!)
The only limitiation is 20gig - but then you just add, and link to, more groups
OK, so there are ads too.
In fact it already exists http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ukafol
I set this up as a trial earlier in the year for a few of us if you remember.
On the other hand, I do possess 200gb of web space with Frontpage Server extentions fully enabled on
http://www.wilkesworld.co.uk/ (excuse my son's Flash logos)- so its not hard to implement this type of function there.
So I can host it if someone wants to build it in Frontpage.
Easy to add another URL
