2002 catalogue. Oh dear, dear, dear. Where did it all go so wrong?

Sorry, I am disappointed so much I cant even be bothered to tell you why.

Hi,

I was at the Lego Event 2001 in Holland, and some people where complaining
(as i do too) abouth the sets. Too many large bricks (juniorisation), no
houses as in the 80-ties, and getting too expensive for what you get.

Santa Claus is comming, so we cellabrate this on the 6° December and I see
in different toy catalogs nice models from Mega Blocks at a verry affordable
price (price / number of pieces). Why can't Lego bring out such models? It
could be a cheap resource for pieces. The prices for the CREATOR sets are too
high, so i don't buy them. I don't want to buy the new Jack Stone stuff
either, because it doesn't fit in the other 'SYSTEM' creations, and the
pieces are also too big, no other combinations can be made with those bricks.
Thats what I think that their slogan << JUST IMAGINE ....>> doesn't work
anymore.
I see from time to time people with kids just passing the Lego shelf in the
toy shops and saying: is that all there is !

Most of those 'licenced' models are too expensive. It seems to be that we,
the customer have to pay for there financial losses over the last two years.
Now with Legoland Germany opening in 2002, stengthens my idee abouth that.

All we want are GOOD sets, and at an affordable price, but not like it goes
nowadays!
The Lego internet shop is at this moment the best place to get some bricks
at an affordable price, thats why i ordered some stuff over there, but i
don't buy that lot of sets anymore as i did a few years ago.

Regards,
Ludo
