In the original post I made a couple of days ago, I mentioned that LEGO has
agreed to find some ways to help make this transition smoother. There has
been some discussion about items that would be important to lock into the old
colors, including some specific parts selections. There has been some
discussion that its time to move on and focus on building up stocks of the
new colors.
Id love to hear from you what your choice would be, and what parts you
consider priority for either solution.
Please help keep the focus of this post on the request above. Im not
discounting your opinions, concerns, or thoughts. Im just trying to keep
this post on track so that we can come away with a solid understanding of
your thoughts on one particular issue.

Keep old colours of:
HIGHEST PRIORITY: All train tracks, due to huge customer cost of replacement if
colours are incompatible (>$1000 for some people - I have at least 50 packs of
straights and more than 30 switches)
1xn plates (pack 10064 etc...)
2xn plates (pack 10060 etc...)
1xn bricks (pack)
2xn bricks (pack)
16x16, 16x32, 32x32, 48x48 baseplates (also improve availability separately)
Santa Fe loco and carriages, feed wires and wheelsets
A classic space pack
A classic castle pack
All the above to be supplied in old colours for as long as possible, train
tracks for ever.
Build up stocks of new colours of:
1xn plates (a pack like 10064 etc...)
2xn plates (a pack like 10060 etc...)
1xn bricks
2xn bricks
Make bulk packs of the new colours available cheaply and soon, so we can build
up enough stock to build something decent with them. Once they are more widely
available in bulk, some of us will post photos of MOCs with the new colours and
that will help others to accept them.
You must keep basic bricks and plates available in both sets of colours though,
for at least 5-10 years (not just 10,000 packs, more like a million!). Some of
us will take longer than others to make the transition. It is very important
to keep stocks of old colour basic packs so that specialist parts in old colours
in our collections are not made redundant by there being nothing of the same
colour to build them into!
Ill comment on colours other than grey/brown in another thread - please read
that too! Thanks for listening.

| Wow, what a crazy couple of days! 250 posts on a thread I started. I'm not sure where to feel shamed or proud. (I know, I know, all I should feel these days is shame) Since my fireproof suit is beginning to strain under the pressure, I'm going to (...)
