2003. By far and away.
You have Mindstorms, LEGENDS, bulk bricks, MOC series, licenses, new colors...
the list goes on. The past pales in comparison IMO. I really believe that the
present is the golden age of LEGO.

I don't see Lego currently producing any Technic sets with classic studded beams. (apart from 8431 crane truck, of course) I don't (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

After browsing the Brickshelf catalogs, I'd have to say 1980. Second batch of models for Technic (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general) !
