Design your own 1000 piece tub

No, sorry... it's not an official LEGO contest. Though wouldn't it be interesting if it was? No, let's think of this more like a fantasy baseball league. You can draft any piece you want into your tub, in any colors and/or quantities you want. (...) (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Design your own 1000 piece tub

(...) I thought it would be really cool to have a bucket of bricks, plates, slopes, & greeblies & maybe a fig or 2 ALL in one color (except the fig(s) ), just to see the FORM of an idea, kind of a test-build bucket, then assign colors from your own (...) (...) Hmm...seems interesting enough...If only lego would release something as great as that, but then again, that would defeat the purpose of accessory kits, now, wouldn't it? <<_Matt Hein_>> Fellow lego enthusiast (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Design your own 1000 piece tub

Nice idea, but not for me. I'd prefer 70% bricks/ 30% plates and keep the rest. If I need greeblies (same as widgets I guess?) or slopes I'll buy the normal bulk packs. Well, let's see, you somewhat lambasted Tim Courtney for assuming he was speaking for the GP about Brickshelf, and now you assume for everyone else (as you have done before)... I'd buy some of every tub proposed so far... :) (...) Neat tub but a small packaging change will be needed, as those plates don't fit into the current tub. Perhaps a mechanism in which the plates ride on top of the tub lid in a cardboard cladding? (...) (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Design your own 1000 piece tub

(...) A great idea! My only wish is that it's for sale discounted, and available for $19.97 like the 4107 here in Canada where I can drive to my local Zellers and pick one up instead of paying $30 USD for it, then shipping, then waiting two weeks (...) (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Design your own 1000 piece tub

(...) Is the 4107 really available at Zellers stores in your area? Or is this wishful thinking?   Re: Design your own 1000 piece tub

Re: Design your own 1000 piece tub

(...) Uh, no, actually, my typo. But the $19.97 4107 is still available at Toys R Us. I got like six when they first went on sale, but AFAIK the sale is still on. But my complaint is really that I want to be able to drive to it and buy it after work (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

Bulk brick pricing (WAS:Re: Design your own 1000 piece tub)

Re: Design your own 1000 piece tub

(...) Where else are you going to find 1000 pieces (regardless of shape or size) for $19.97 Canadian? Sure the distribution isn't ideal, but it's still a deal for most people. Plus, most of the purchasers of 4107 are normal families who will see it (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Design your own 1000 piece tub

(...) I could not have said that better myself, Calum. The 3033 was a slightly better deal than the 4107.
