I thought they were pre-assembled after a time, probably using a heat
weld. Hmm... Time to look at some models....

The Walls are still in production.  The big Adventurers set has one.  No panes,
though, so they might not be in production.

Then there's also the cost of assembling the window-walls.  I don't know how
automated that process is.  Even so, it's an additional productional line,
with specialized equipment and materials.  I don't remember with these
pieces if the windows snap in reliably, or if they must be glued.  Seems
like I've got some of each (glued and snapped), but I could be
mis-remembering.

Those windows have *never* been pre-assembled.  I have some from their first
year's release, and I had to snap the windows in myself.

(...) The smaller airplane windows come with a separate pane, I think. However, there is an older thinwall with an embedded (molded in, or very tightly glued) trans lt blue window. This is a thinwall that is 1x4x3 rathdr than the 1x4x2 dual (...) (26 years ago, 22-Apr-99, to lugnet.general)
