Oh, I like the old front ends, I have that same airport as well, plus
numerous other sets with that front end. I just wonder why, since they
have IMHO a better looking / aerodynamically better front end of a
plane, why would they put this set out? I mean, in the set 1818, that is
an awesome model! The parts, the new front end, everything!

This set however, ugh! Does anyone have a time machine? :)

Ugh, Town Junior claims another victim, good-bye airport!

And why did they put the old front ends for planes on it?

What's wrong with the original front ends of planes?   ;)

I personally think they're quite cool.  My first airport was the 6392 with
the red and white jet (which 2532 seems to be modelled on) and that's one of
my favourite town sets.

The only problem was the helicopters and planes of that era (mid 80's)
looked very similar from the front.

In any case the use of stickers is baffling.  Surely if would be easier from
a building standpoint to use actual window pieces than stickers.  And
secondly the age group in 7 - 12 which was the age group of the Classic
town.  At this rate well never see a return to Classic designed town sets.

Oh well, at least we still have second hand Town set auctions.
